The '''Melanistic Kickstarter Skin''' (also known as the '''Black Dragon Skin''') is an exclusive [[Skin Colours|skin colour]] reward for all Kickstarter backers who pledged for the $18 "Hatchling" tier or higher during [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/beawesomegames/day-of-dragons/description Day of Dragons Kickstarter campaign]. 

Owners of the melanistic skin are capable of selecting this skin from their main menu upon spawning, and it is useable in any [[Creatures|playable dragon]] species. Non-Kickstarter backers can also obtain the exclusive black skin via [[nesting]] if one or both of their parents are that skin. However, only owners of the melanistic skin can apply [[shimmer]] to it.

This skin is not the same as [[Dark Elemental Skin]] and it does not appear in the [[Elementals]]' character selection screen.
