The Bioluminescent Dragon (or Bio Dragon) is the second smallest playable creature within the game and slightly larger than the Micro-Feathered Dragon. It is the fastest flying dragon and second fastest land dragon, surpassing even the Singe Crest. The Bioluminescent Dragon is a small dragon with a unique element that cannot be found within any of the other dragon species. They have wide narrow wings and spine clusters located on their head, neck, back, and tail, with additional longer tendril-like spines that are bioluminescent. Bioluminescent Dragons are often brightly colored, and some of their markings/tendrils glow. They turn the glow on and off by using their ability key "Q".
The Bioluminescent Dragon is a Kickstarter backer-exclusive cosmetic dragon, which means it does not have any combat abilities except when eaten it causes sickness. Only Kickstarter backers who purchased the selected tier to obtain this creature are the only ones who can spawn as it in the game. Non-backers can play the Bioluminescent Dragon via nesting.
The Bioluminescent Dragon is one of two dragons with the Ability to Hover (The other being the Blitz Striker), it is incredibly maneuverable and allows for backwards flight, it is also the only dragon that can fly out of the water by pressing the "G" key twice, once to jump out of the water and again to hover.

The special Ability of the Bioluminescent dragon is the ability to turn on and off their glow.
Gameplay[ | ]
The natural environment of the Bioluminescent Dragons is the Shimmering Caverns, where their primary food source of large nectar-producing flowers grow. This means that the Bio Dragons are specialized nectarivores. As of the 1.0.0 update flowers can be found mainly on "Bio Island" or "Cherry Island", a small island in the middle of the large lake in the center with cherry trees and several flowers. Other flowers can be found throughout the map.
Bio Dragons are fast and agile flyers that use their speed to outmaneuver their predators. However, this is not their only form of defense. Their bile consists of bioluminescent material, which they can use to mark other creatures and make them glow. While marked, attackers cannot hide from the Bio Dragon or other potential predators nearby. Shadow Scales are specifically noted to dislike Bioluminescent Dragons, as the Bio's glowing bile prevents Shadow Scales from going invisible. (This is not currently implemented if this is planned.)
Biolumin Dragons can lay up to 6 eggs and growth time is noted to be roughly 48 minutes in total from hatchling to adult.
Bio Dragons cannot become elders.

These are the six currently known skins for the Bioluminescent Dragon, not counting the black, gray and white Kickstarter skins, or the overo skin obtainable via nesting.
Skins as of the 1.0.0 update for the Biolumin Dragon is currently broken, hovering the cursor over the icon in the family tree shows your skin.
