The Flame Stalker (or simply Fire Dragon from the alpha) is the third largest dragon in the game whose element is fire. It has a relatively medium build body with slim tail and wide and narrow wings. Flame Stalker can be recognized due to its more common European Dragon looking design from the folklore and mythology; a truly wonderous and dangerous hunter of the skies that burns its opponents with its destructive fire breath. A powerful creature whose capabilities should not be underestimated.

Flame Stalker is one of the three free playable creatures along with; Shadow Scale, Inferno Ravager and Fire Elemental. It was the first creature to receive its new custom appearance by Jia Hao for Day of Dragons.

Special Ability

Flame Stalker's special ability is thermal sense which allows it to see all warm-blooded creatures within the surrounding area. This includes AI creatures and other dragons and even invisible Shadow Scales. It has been implied that the only throwback of thermal sense ability are other hot environments, which might cover other creatures' heat signatures.

Flame Stalker is carnivorous and is required to hunt AI creatures or other dragons for food. Their natural environment is the desert map where they will spawn. The Flame Stalkers are relatively fast but slightly more powerful in terms of damage than the Inferno Ravager. Their primary ability is a fire breath that can ignite other dragons from a medium distance, which will cause the target fire damage over time while they are on fire. Flame Stalkers have a small natural resistance against fire and do not take as much fire damage from other fire-based creatures. When fighting or hunting other creatures with fire element, they rely on melee-based abilities such as the bite attack to inflict damage.

The Flame Stalker's special ability is used to detect other dragon's heat signatures within a nearby radius. It is currently one of the two known ways to encounter Shadow Scales's cloaking ability. Thermal sense can also be used to track and detect prey from dense vegetation or track an opponent and prey trough dimly lit areas, where you might not otherwise be able to see very well.
